Dear FEA School Students and Families,
I hope this message finds you safe and well ISA. Thanks for your patience this summer as we had to delay communications and wait for some guidance about how our school year would look during this pandemic.
With that said, we would like to give you a quick update on school-related items as we near the start of the 2020-2021 school year. As you may already know, we are starting the school year in a Distance Learning model. The school board and administration, with guidance from local health agencies and the Sacramento County Office of Education, have made this decision out of
an abundance of caution for our community’s safety. You will find that surrounding school districts are starting off this school year in the distance learning model as well. Though the distance learning model is not ideal, we hope to resume in-person instruction and learning as soon as possible. We want you to know that we will be working hard to meet the learning needs of all of our students. We will continue to refine and adjust our DL model to
meet every student’s needs. We will continue to update you with information as we receive it from local and state agencies. Currently, the fall schedule for FEA has been finalized and attached to this letter. Please keep in mind that the first few weeks of school will be dedicated to social emotional learning, assessments and revisions in order to develop individualized
educational plans to every student.
The following is information that has been confirmed so far:
The school will adopt an all-digital curriculum in all subjects in all grades.
The school will purchase supplementary online resources for all grades as needed.
All teachers will utilize google classroom as a one unified place for communication and assignments.
Teachers and staff will start professional development sessions on August, 10, 2020 to setup their digital curricula, integrate them with google classroom, and develop a unified teaching and learning model that includes collaboration, differentiation, and assessment.
The first day of school for students is August, 20, 2020
Parent orientation will be held on 8/18 and 8/19 at 6 PM. All parents will be emailed a Zoom link to join the meetings.
The FEA Community and our students are simply amazing and along with our talented team of teachers and staff, we will work hard to provide a balanced virtual school experience that meets all of their needs.
Please continue to take care of yourself and regularly check your email for updates from FEA. You will be hearing from our team on a regular basis in an effort to clearly communicate information about the new school year. I encourage you to visit www.feaschool.com for the latest updates and information from our school.
