Amira A. Abdelkader
Quranic Studies
Experience Profile:My name is Amira A. Abdelkader. I was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt with my wonderful parents and siblings. In my childhood,I was raised in a strict Muslim manner with Arabic as my first language and English as my second. I graduated middle school from Al Azhar Al Shareef where I memorized twenty ajzaa(sections) of the Holy Quran and learned tajweed and a whole lot of tilawah rules. Honestly, it was great experience and I would have loved to continue, but then we moved to Saudi Arabia where I continued in high school. After high school, I graduated from Ein Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, where I got my Engineering degree. For a while, I worked as an Engineer then married a wonderful husband. We had two beautiful daughters, Kenzy and Nadeen, then we moved to the United Arab Emirates, where I continued as an Engineer but also Alhamdulillah was able to continue my path with the Quran. There I also enjoyed the many malls and fun places to go to with my family. We stayed about ten years there, occasionally moving from city to city. About two years ago, we had an amazing third child, Ahmed, who kept me busy. About six months ago we moved to Folsom, California. Compared to the U.A.E, there wasn’t half as many malls in Folsom, but the nature was amazing and my family and I learned to enjoy being in the outdoors a lot more, whether we are plain hiking in the forest between the beautiful shady trees or visiting the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. It was a huge move for all of the family but it was Alhamdulillah very enjoyable too. Now, I have the privilege to work for the Folsom Education Academy as the Quranic Studies teacher. I am looking forward to having a successful year InshaAllah.
