My name is Annette Alsey and I have lived in this area all my life. I am a graduate of Sacramento State University. I graduated with a double major in Child Development and Social Work. I obtained two Bachelor’s degrees in Arts and Science. I also completed the Teacher Credential program at C.S.U.S and received my Teaching Credential in 1983.
Next, I taught Kindergarten for North Sacramento School District for a half year in a temporary position. Later, I was hired to teach Kindergarten for Del Paso Heights School District from September to January for a maternity leave. Del Paso Heights then hired me to teach Fourth Grade with a promise of a Kindergarten to come. The next year they needed a Third Grade Teacher, so I taught the Third Grade. My Third Grade had the highest scores in the district. At the end of the year I decided to stop teaching to have a family. (I also attended Law School while I was teaching the Third and Fourth Grades.)
I have three wonderful children. When my youngest son started First Grade I started substitute teaching at their elementary school. Next, I was hired to teach the summer school First/Second grade combination class. In the Fall I was hired to teach a Kindergarten over flow class which was only for three weeks. I wanted a more stable job and Carden School of Sacramento needed a Pre-k Teacher. They hired me and I taught at Carden for three years. The Pre-k at Carden was equivalent to a Kindergarten at Public school. I also taught Kindergarten for the summer program at Carden. At the same time I helped my husband open an Insurance business in Auburn.
Next I taught Kindergarten at Folsom Crescent School for five years. I am very excited to be teaching at Folsom Educational Academy. I have been teaching Kindergarten here for over two years now. Kindergarten is my expertise and my chance to incite a true love of education in all those young enthusiastic minds.
