I was born near London, England where both my family and my husband’s family still reside. I graduated from Roehampton University in England in 2008 with a degree in Primary Education and taught in England for nearly seven years. My passion for teaching had begun during my final year in college when I visited a school and enjoyed working alongside other adults to support children’s learning.
My first teaching position was in a government sponsored Islamic school where I cultivated my teaching skills. Later, I performed substitute teaching in mainstream and private schools, which allowed me to gain a wider perspective concerning the different ways in which children learn.
My husband and I decided to move to the USA in 2015 and reside here with our son. I was blessed to have moved into a great community where I was given the opportunity to work as a teacher for the South Sutter Charter School for the next four years and teach homeschooled students. This familiarized me with the common core curricula and many new teaching strategies. I will be teaching Fifth Grade this year at FEA and I am excited to get back into the classroom and encourage student excellence in all areas of academics.
