Asslamu Alaikum parents,
On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I hope that you have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer! I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new and returning students, families, teachers and staff. As I begin my third year at FEA, I am particularly grateful for the blessing of this community of staff, students and families, and I am eager to see you again on the first day of school, August 13th, 2019. During my tenure at FEA, we have had many hours of good discussion about how staff and families can work together to ensure that our students are receiving an education that supports and empowers them as they strive to reach their full potential as young men and women of faith, intelligence and goodness.
We have been working hard to strengthen and enrich our academic program and put systems in place that will facilitate teacher/family communication in every classroom. We are proud and excited to launch the 2019-2020 school year with our incredibly talented and dedicated teaching staff and your ongoing support and partnership. This year we have added two new teachers to our dedicated staff, Tr. Zahida Ghafar is our 5th grade teacher and Tr. Harjot Chohan is our 1st grade teacher, both come to FEA with the necessary degrees and experience that is sure to enrich our school. This year also brings the addition of 6th grade and the inception of the STEM program. It is our objective at FEA, that our youth are prepared to bring knowledge and skills to solve problems, make sense of information, and know how to gather and evaluate evidence to make decisions. These are the kinds of skills that our students will develop in science, technology, engineering and math—disciplines collectively known as STEM.
I believe that each child has his or her own special gifts and talents waiting to be discovered. I look forward to seeing those gifts emerge as we progress through another exciting year. My wish for the 2019-20 school year is that we can move learning from our students’ heads, to their hearts and through their hands, to make learning come alive for them in ways they never imagined.

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue the success established by FEA by building strong relationships with parents, students and community partners. We will focus on character education initiatives, Common Core skills, the use of data to drive instruction, and to provide consistent implementation of the curriculum in a rigorous manner so that we can continue to increase all of the students’ achievement.
All of us at Folsom Educational Academy are eager and excited to begin what promises to be an amazing year, insh’Allah. This year we will continue to provide academic experiences for our students that are rigorous, relevant, and help them build relationships while making real-world connections. As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors-teachers, students and parents-are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment. My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to call or email me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year.
